How florist ranking works
Most flower sites will not tell you why one shop appears above another. Here is ours, in full.
Search results are ordered by distance. That is the whole rule.
When you search a ZIP code or a city, we work out a point for that place and list the florists who deliver there, nearest shop first. There is no second factor and no tie-breaker beyond distance — shops we cannot place on a map at all appear last, in alphabetical order.
What does not affect your results
- Money. No shop can pay to appear higher, and no sponsor appears in florist search results at all.
- Subscription plan. A shop on our cheapest plan ranks exactly like a shop on our most expensive one.
- Reviews and ratings. They are shown so you can judge for yourself; they do not move a shop up or down.
- How long a shop has been with us. A shop that joined this morning ranks on distance like everyone else.
What decides whether a shop appears at all
Ranking and eligibility are different questions. A shop is eligible for a search when it is an active florist account and it genuinely covers the place you searched — either because the shop is in that town, or because it has declared that ZIP or city as somewhere it delivers.
We would rather show you nothing than invent local coverage. If no shop covers your area, you get an honest empty result and the chance to tell us where you needed one, instead of a page pretending a neighbourhood florist exists.
One place we do score shops — and you are not in it
When a florist takes an order for an address outside their own delivery area, they can pass it to another shop in the network. To help them choose, we suggest shops in a scored order. This list is shown to florists, never to customers, and it has no bearing on what you see when you search.

A shop with no history yet is scored at the midpoint rather than at zero, so a new florist is not shut out of network work for the crime of being new. The sending florist always makes the final choice; the score only orders the options.

A shop appearing for an area it cannot really deliver to is a problem we want to know about — it is one of the things that costs a shop its verified badge. Tell us and we will check it.
