Flowers for funeral homes
Why funeral homes rely on local florists
Funeral homes needing dependable same-day sympathy florals.
Typical needs: Casket sprays, standing arrangements, sympathy baskets
How your business account works
- Sign up free and choose your industry type.
- Get a dashboard matched to your industry with local florists that serve it.
- Request quotes from one florist or several at once.
- Save delivery locations and set up recurring deliveries.
- Message florists and track everything in one place.
How funeral flowers actually get to the service
Sympathy work is the least forgiving floral category there is. The service happens at a fixed hour, the family is not in a position to reschedule, and a late delivery cannot be made good afterwards. Almost everything below exists because of that one constraint.
How the ordering process works
- Save each chapel, graveside location and receiving door as a delivery location on your account, with the access notes the driver needs. You set these up once, not per order.
- Raise a quote request for the service. Name the arrangement types, the service time, and the time by which flowers must be standing in the room — which is normally well before the family arrives, not at the service hour.
- Send it to a florist you already work with, or leave it open so any florist serving your area can respond.
- Responses arrive as a message thread, so you can settle stem substitutions, ribbon wording and casket-spray sizing in writing before you accept.
- Accept one response. The florist works to what is in the thread, and both sides keep the same record.
- For standing needs — a weekly arrangement for the entrance or the chapel — set a recurring order instead of raising the same request each week.
What matters operationally
- Deliver to the room, not the postcode
- A funeral home usually needs flowers placed in a specific chapel or viewing room, through a specific door, before a specific hour. Put that in the delivery location notes once. A driver who has to find the right entrance during a service is already too late.
- Sympathy work is prioritised in routing
- Orders flagged as sympathy are stamped with the highest priority when a florist builds a delivery route, so they are scheduled ahead of general deliveries on the same run. That is a routing rule in the software, not a promise about traffic.
- Card messages and ribbon wording go in writing
- Names on a ribbon are the single most common thing to get wrong and the least fixable. Send the exact spelling in the quote thread so it is on the record both shops can see.
- Substitutions need a faster answer here
- Equal-or-greater-value substitution is enforced for everyone, but a request needing your approval reaches you as a link. On a same-day service, nominate someone who will actually be at a screen to answer it.
- One point of contact when an order is passed on
- If the shop you ordered from cannot cover the address, it can pass the order to another florist in the network. You are emailed the name of the shop actually making and delivering it, and the shop you ordered from stays your contact. The price does not change.
What this does not do
- There is no guaranteed delivery window. A florist confirms what it can do for a given service; the platform does not commit on the shop's behalf.
- Same-day cutoff times are set by each shop, not by the platform, and they tighten around major holidays.
- Standing orders run weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. A cadence tied to your service schedule rather than the calendar has to be raised as individual quotes.
- The platform does not hold funds for you or invoice on the florist's behalf. The florist raises the invoice and marks it paid.
Common questions
Can a funeral home set up an account and order on behalf of a family?
Yes. A business account lets you raise quotes and place orders under your own account, with your own saved locations and contacts. Billing sits with your account rather than the family's.
How far ahead should a funeral home order flowers?
As soon as the service time is fixed. Every shop sets its own same-day cutoff, and those cutoffs tighten around holidays, so the ordering window is shorter than most people assume.
What happens if the exact flowers are unavailable?
A minor stem swap within the same look is pre-authorised. Any change of colour, container or material needs your approval first, and the replacement must be of equal or greater value — that is enforced by the software, not left to the shop.
Can a funeral home set up recurring flowers for its own premises?
Yes. A recurring order with one florist runs weekly, every two weeks, or monthly, and can be paused or cancelled at any time.
The rules your account runs on
- Substitutions
- A minor stem swap within the same look is pre-authorised. A change of colour, container or material needs your approval through a link valid for 48 hours, and the replacement must be of equal or greater value.
- Reporting a problem
- You can report a problem with a delivered order for 7 days after delivery. Duplicate charges and suspected fraud are exempt from that window.
- What the platform takes
- Nothing is added to your order. The price, delivery fee and tax are the florist's own.
- Standing order schedules
- Recurring deliveries run weekly, biweekly, monthly. They can be paused and resumed.
- How results are ordered
- Florist search results are ordered by distance from the delivery address alone. No shop pays for placement.
